Former Cowboys WR Michael Gallup reportedly stroking the NFL after his retirement in 2024

Former Dallas Cowboys receiver Michael Gallup, who withdrew from the NFL for the 2024 season, wants to return to the competition in 2025, NFL Network reported.

Before Gallup decided to retire, Gallup signed a one -year contract of $ 3 million with the Las Vegas Raiders. He played his six previous NFL seasons with the Cowboys, together with 266 receptions, 3,744 Yards and 21 Touchdowns. His best season was in 2019 when he caught 66 passes for 1,107 Yards and six scores.

The Wideout was Dallas’ selection of the third round of Dallas (no. 81 General) from the state of Colorado. In 2017 he was named Consensus All-American after he received 100 receptions (in third place in the nation) for 1,413 Yards and seven TDs.

Gallup, now 29, has never publicly tackled his retirement. He tore the ACL in his left knee during week 17 of the 2021-22 season and came back to play with Dallas for the next two years. The production of Gallup during those two seasons, however, noticeably slipped, on average 36 receptions and 421 Yards.

The cowboys released him after the 2023 campaign, two years in a five -year contract of $ 57.5 million. He signed a free agent agreement with the Raiders and participated in OTAs and Minicamp. But after Gallup had informed the team before training the camp that he intended to retire, Las Vegas posted him on the reserve/retired list.

If being completely healthy and able to match his previous best production, Gallup may be favorable to the top five free agents who are available in a thin, outdated group at receiver.
